Why buy such a great camera for such a great price that wont even let you download the pictures onto your computer?...because all it leads to is great disappointment. I bought this camera last december for an incredible price, it's a wonderful camera, worthy the money I paid for it BUT...you need to be warned, today my camera just stopped working for no apparent reason, when I turn on the camera the lens come out and go back at least 3 times, an "access" legend appears on the screen and finally the camera starts beeping and says turn off and turn on again, you can go and see the stored pictures but you can't take pictures anymore. The reason I am warning you is because while searching ways to fix it I learned that this is a very common problem with this camera, SONY needs to take care of this issue.

Customer Review: Not Appropriate for all Models
I purchased this case for a P200 and, when the case arrived, I was surprised to find out how large this case really is. It may be be appropriate for earlier P models, but why buy a large case for a small camera? My camera literally rattles around in this case. I opened the packaging, and will not return it to Amazon because I fear a re-stocking charge. I will probably 're-gift' this case to someone who has an earlier P model, and look for a generic case that is closer to the size of the camera than this leftover case. My guess is that Sony did not want to bother fabricating a new case for its newer, smaller, cameras and simply wanted to continue selling what it has in stock.

This lens is great. Razor sharp at f5.6 or greater. Not too bad at f2.8! Really great day-to-day lens and you will be the only person not using a flash at those family functions! When I couple this with the great high ISO performance of the Sony a700 it is unstoppable indoors. There's just not many shots I can't get anymore indoors and for those few I can always still fall back on the flash. This lens represents some of the best bang-for-the-buck in photography today.
Customer Review: Great all-purpose lens
Many DSLRs come with a 'standard' lens on the front. This one replaces that usually low-grade lens with a sharp, fast constant-aperture lens. So far I love it. I also have to give kudos to Tamron's warranty...you can't beat it, and they honor it. My old Tamron lens needed repair after about 20,000 photos taken through it and they did it without question. All around great lens, definitely worth the price, love the flexibility of low-light quality.

Customer Review: This camera fits a specific niche
The Sony MVCFD series of cameras was our Police Department's introduction into digital cameras. They filled a specific need because they allowed photos to be taken, and the floppy disk securred as evidence, without having Officers download, transfer, or copy (Evidence) images and possibly damage/lose them. Even though the Department has progressed to far more sophisticated cameras, the MVCFD 200 still has an important role in taking images of lesser evidential importance, applicant pictures, etc., where 2MP's is not a problem. This camera is such a work horse at our Department that they get used 24/7, without fail. An incredibly dependable camera, considering the wear and tear it recieves from a host of people. We have purchased at least four replacements over the last couple of years through sites such as Amazon, to keep this simple technology going as long as possible.

I was searching for a super wide Sony make high speed lens, I was a bit hesitating to purchase fisheye because I knew it distorts and 11~18 is not that fast. I tried 16MM as I had no options and what a pleasant surprise - I am happy to say that with 16 MM I have been handling distortion to my advantage.. It is very effective glass, unbelievable sharp and captures great rendition, very cute size to enjoy, it is now always on my camera, don't feel like changing to earlier (sigma20-40) wide angles. Filters are integral part of this lens but not much of an attraction in today's world. Wish instead Sony had thought of protecting the outer surface, as it can scratch too easily. Amazon.com was offering best value, quick in supply; actually nothing to say beyond that I have been buying my stuff since many years from them. May be they needed to increase range in accessories, beyond standard items.

This one is for first time dslr buyers who do not want to go the nikon or canon way, yeah theres olympus, pentax, lumix, so on...so whats special about the Sony A200? The A100 has proved that Sony can live up to the levels of the big players. The A200 has a feature set for a price a 100-300 $ cheaper than rivals... ....thats not it.... I made up my mind on the A200 only after I played with in the store, it felt great on my hands, more like a mid range than entry level, and the most ergonomic. Do not decide solely on internet reviews and flickr images, you have to feel and handle a camera before you buy, and then you can decide if you really want to spend an extra 300 on the canon. Picture quality is much better than the best point and shoots, but the bundled lens is average. Like any dslr you have to invest in better lenses, may be next year..... Its a great choice for an entry dslr to learn and grow with.

Customer Review: works but not a great fit on even Sony cameras (works just as well on other brands)
With this being a Sony product, I half-expected it to be a little proprietary (i.e. have to use a Sony camera for it to work well). To my surprise, when I tried it with the Sony W80 the position of the ring didn't fit around the lens without quite a bit of adjustment. And from the shape of Sony's other popular T series (also listed as compatible to this ring light on Sony's website), it's obvious that it would be even more of a stretch to get this to fit, although the non-telescoping lens on the T series might make matters easier. However, when I tried this on a Panasonic FX series compact camera, it fit just as well - meaning not perfect and you wouldn't want to leave it attached to the camera for carrying, but it can be adjusted to fit and does its job as a ring light. On the other hand, I do find the light excessively white even on the low setting. Still experimenting on white balance to see what setting might work best with this.

I bought this to replace my Kodak EasyShare Z740 with 10x optical zoom. I needed to keep the zoom capabilities and I wanted a camera that would take good action pictures as well as still photos. I also had to have the video mode to capture all the witty little things my boys do and say. I got it charged and started taking pictures right away. I have two busy boys so I need a camera that takes good action shots. I love all of the features and I love that when you turn the selection dial the choices appear on the lcd screen so that I can stay focused. I wanted to be able to learn to use something a little more complex with the plans of moving up to a SLR camera later.

Sony's has never failed to impress me. I recently owned the W70 and loved it and i love this. The pictures are good and the in-camera features and modifications are well placed. The pictures are great and video is great and the camera is pretty stylish. Cons: You can't zoom in with the camera in video mode but it's alright since the last W70 didn't have that feature too but it would've been nicer if it did. The button lags a little bit when i try to view the picture but no big deal. Great Camera and Great Deal.
Customer Review: Poor Pictures
I have gone through a few digital cameras. My first was a Kodak. It took great pictures but was too big to just stick in my pocket. My next purchase was an Olympus. It was very compact with great feautres but took TERRIBLE pictures. Then I purchased the Sony DSCW90B. I like the size, but that is about it. 90% of the pictures I take do not come out well at all. Also, the lag time between pictures seems to be forever. It is way too slow to capture small children playing and wildlife. Since I purchased it a few months ago, I am stuck.

Customer Review: the tripod stand is of poor quality
I recently bought the kit. The case is inadequate for Sony DSC H3/ H10 camera and does not have space for holding even the lens protector. The tripod stand is of extremely poor quality and broke just after one use.

Sony's has never failed to impress me. I recently owned the W70 and loved it and i love this. The pictures are good and the in-camera features and modifications are well placed. The pictures are great and video is great and the camera is pretty stylish. Cons: You can't zoom in with the camera in video mode but it's alright since the last W70 didn't have that feature too but it would've been nicer if it did. The button lags a little bit when i try to view the picture but no big deal. Great Camera and Great Deal.

Customer Review: Lens almost impossible to clearly focus
I purchased this lens for my A350 hoping it would be at least something to get me by until knew what lens I really wanted. I would not pay any price again for a lens by this manufacturer. 98% of the photos are blurry even thought they look fine in the viewfinder or LED display. By the time you get them in focus or think you have them in focus, if the subject is not stationary, the shot has been lost... Spend a little extra money and buy another brand. Betty Ebel
Customer Review: works pretty well
Nice lens but just like other reviews, I have to agree that it is difficult to keep the lens steady for a good picture. Also, the AF (auto-focus) feature of the camera does not work with this lens. One additional point, be sure to unlock the shutter release in the menu because otherwise the camera won't recognize the lens and will not release the shutter.

EASILY ONE OF THE BEST 3.2 MP EVER PRODUCED-NOT MUCH CAN GO WRONG WITH THESE CAMERAS UNLIKE THE NEWER MODELS, WHERE ONECE DROPPED THEY DON'T FUNCTION ANYMORE. I TOOK THIS AND A NEWER SONY 6.00 MP WITH ME TO EURPOE LAST YEAR, "GUESS WHAT?" THE 6.00 MP BROKEDOWN, SO I USED THE OLD DSC-P52 AS BACKUP. THE PICS I CAME BACK WITH ARE EASILY AS GOOD AS THE NEWER MODEL TOOK, BEFORE IT BROKE DOWN. A TRUE WORKHORSE.
Customer Review: Great starter camera!
I got this camera back in 2001 and, for the 4 years that I used it, I was very pleased. Pros: *It performed well in low-light and high-light situations. *It takes fairly decent pictures, better than one would expect from a 3.2mp camera Cons: *There are times when the shutter lags, which caused me to lose the shots I wanted to capture on quite a few occasions. *It has a tendency to produce very sharp images at times *The lack of a rechargable battery can make frequent use of this camera expensive. Especially since, on high-end digital camera double A batteries, the average battery life was approximately 50 pictures. Overall: Great camera for someone new to digital photography and looking to gain some experience with it.

Customer Review: Not worth the money
I bought a CTA DB-FM50 battery for my Sony DSC-F707. After inserting it an turning on the camera, the message "Only for Info-Lithium battery" pops up on the screen, after which my camera switches off. Big disappointment. I cannot recommend this product, since it does not live up to the statements by the manufacturer on compatibility with Sony devices.

This is a nice camera{I got the Blue version that is prettier} This camera takes very nice pictures but If you're looking for something kind of professional Then this one is not for you. This is a simple camera for someone who will upload pictures to Facebook, Windows Live Spaces or My Space and will print some pictures. This is not like the Sony Cybershot W300 that is 13.6 Megapixels, This one is a nice camera for simple use. I am still getting used to it because it's kind of complicated to handle but still I feel I will use this camera a long time...

Had this camera for 1 month, LOVE IT! Pros: - HUGE SCREEN!! Talk about being the center of attention when you whip this camera out. Definitely want to get some sort of a protective slip for it. - Great picture quality. What do you expect from SONY? Only the best. - Internal Memory. 2GB - memory stick? No neccessary with this. Internal hard drive rocks. - Sleek design. Doesn't look cheap, luxurious feel. - Video recording. Again...just like the pictures, it rocks. CONS - Weight. A tad bit on the heavy side, but the HUGE screen makes you forget about it quickly! - Close/Open slide. Not neccessarily a con, but it just takes a little getting used to. - Size. Customer Review: A long lens
First off this is in no way a compact lens, its big and its heavy, but it does produce very sharp and detailed images under the right conditions. I am using this with my Sony A200 and it performs well on a tripod, but for handheld success it better be a very bright sunny day or a very high ISO setting because this lens is very difficult to control at extreme telephoto lengths. My Sony begins flashing the warning sign in the viewfinder at 200mm, but to the cameras credit the steady shot performs well. That being said I would suggest that this lens be used with a tripod. Bottom line, for the cost this is a very nice lens. It is louder than the Sony or Minolta's, and it does hunt a bit at extreme telephoto (partially I beleive due to camera shake induced by it's weight) but all things considered the build quality seems, to me at least, to exceed the Sony kit lens.

This is a good lense. Tamron makes a good product and has for many years. This is nice and light - some think that equates to cheap, but that is not so. This lense is durable and beats many of the others with the same specs. This lrns seems to sell out fast. It is a good lense for any level of photography. No, it is not very loud like someone else said. It is comparable to many others. Heck, for under $200, you can't complain, right?

I bought this to replace my lost Canon A510. This camera takes pictures fast. The images are clean and crisp outdoors. But again indoor shots will always get screwed under low lighting with all the point and shoots. The LCD is bright and sharp (thanks to the big, high resolution display). Pros: 1. Clean and crisp outdoor images. 2. Very fast auto focus. 3. Decent image quality indoors in good lighting. 4. Menu and settings organization is good. 5. Lots of retouch options. 6. DRO works awesome. 7. Macro mode is too good for a point and shoot. Cons: 1. Need to press too much buttons for a simple task. 2. Playback is slow and starts up very slowly too. 3. Purple streaks in the LCD when viewed against a bright light source. They don't appear in the pictures, but still viewable in video. 4. Noisy indoor images under average/ low lighting. 5. Buttons are tiny and mode dial looks cheap. 6. Proprietary USB connector. 7. White balance is not effective.

I'm very pleased with the camera after taking more than 200 shots in a little amount of time. The Auto mode is really useful but where the camera really shines is in the program area. Great photo results with just little tweaks. Oh, and the Smile Shutter is more useful than it seems, specially when taking those pesky baby smile pictures.

Customer Review: Good purchase for Outdoor Photographers
The sport jacket made for the P-51 and P-71 is a good buy for people who do much outdoor shooting or in situations bad for the camera, but the value isn't great for average users. The jacket is made of vinyl that offers good protection for the camera, and the lens part of the camera fits into a rubber fitting. There is a rubber bellow which is pulled out for use in the P-71 to allow for the zoom lens to move freely while it is snapped down for use in the P-51. A transparent panel protects the lens, and I couldn't tell a difference in the picture quality with or without it. The jacket also comes with two replacement panels. Moisture is an enemy of cameras, and the jacket provides some but not a lot of protection against it. There is a metal zipper along the bottom of the jacket and a velcro strap on the side which goes over two vinyl flaps. This allows for battery and memory card change without having to take the entire jacket off. Now the cons: The mode dial can't be turned at all because of the tight fitting vinyl which is a great inconvience to me, and the viewfinder can't be used because the rubber part in the front obstructs the view. Therefore the LCD has to be used which consumes battery power. That's about all for the cons; all other functions of the camera can be used with ease.

I purchased this lens, hoping to finally get shots of some birds and people that kept eluding me. I'm happy to say I've been able to get both in range now. The lens arrived on the exact delivery date promised, packaged very well. It has a bit of weight to it, but not nearly as much as some of my other tele lenses. I use this lens with a Tripod, but in good light, while bracing yourself, you can manage to get clean shots up to the 400mm range. I've shot with this on both my a100 and my a350 with fairly equal results on both. I find it zooms in a bit faster on the a350. Pros: It delivers what it says it can. Cons: I didn't buy it sooner. Givens: It weighs what you would expect from this size of lens.
Customer Review: Interesting Lens - Heavy and decent quality
This lens was a nice lens, but I just wasn't happy with the pictures I got from it. I returned the lens and replaced it with a Tamron 200-500mm and love the Tamron. The is a good lens if you want a lens to get a wide range of focal lengths. It has good build quality, looks good and produces decent images but I saw some strange aberrations in my pictures and the bokeh just didn't look right to me. I am not a pro photographer so the issue I had with the lens may have been user generated...but I will say that the Tamron 200-500mm works better for me than this lens did.

If you are looking for a good, basic digital camera, this one is great. It's got enough features to do everything you want from a personal use camera (not professional level). I bought this camera for my mother. I bought myself the Cannon SureShot, because I got lured in by the extra features. After they both came in and I used my mom's camera, I wished I had bought the Sony instead of the Cannon. This camera is easy to use. The dials/menus are easy to use. Just a few minutes of "playing around with it" is enough to figure out the basic functions. A good solid camera. Nice pictures.

This lens is a quick step up or a replacement for the kit lens that accompanies new cameras. Not a great lens, since the barrel turns while focusing making it difficult to use a CPL or graduated ND filter. I would deffinetly reccomend this as a walk around or starter lens and the price can't be beat.
Customer Review: Nice travel/all purpose lens
Okay, this is a cheap, wide angle almost superzoom lens. That said, it covers a very usable range, produces sharp images, has a solid build, and is light and easy to use. It is a good choice for a travel lens for an APS-C sensor dSLR (not for full frame). The bokeh is a little odd, but I can live with it. The AF can be a bit slow in poorer lighting (but many more expensive lenses suffer from this as well). I've not regretted the purchase. Highly reccomend.

I bought this lens to take with me to Yellowstone National Park to get the pictures I missed last time. Especially for the wildlife. I have been testing it and was really surprised at the detail it shows. I use it with my Sony DSLR 100, and using "anti shake" I am able to shoot without a tripod. Of course if you have time, a tripod would be a better choice. With wildlife you don't always have time to set up.
Customer Review: Very Good Lens - My doubts Were Unfounded!
I was a little doubtful about using a mirrored lens. My doubts were misplaced. The lens, for nature shots is very good. I get some tremendous shots with the subject matter almost full frame! The f/8 aperture, I was a little concerned when it came to speed but that also proofed to misplaced I've been able to shoot at medium and high speeds 250th to 1,000th. The auto focus is fast, although because of the mirror, in tight spots, has a tendency to hunt so I've selected the the tightest auto focus setting possible. It's reduced the situation but not eliminated it. The lens is light enough for the reduced vibration of the Sony Alpha, it doesn't exceed the limitation thus I really don't need a tripod which is a big plus in bird photography.

This lens is very impressive! Very sharp, nice Bokeh, great colors. And of course all the obvious advantages that you can see from the spec: f/2.8 (good for low light and for shallow DOF), SSM (very fast focus). Lately I learned about another advantage - you look professional when you carry this lens... I walked around in parades and concerts and people were happy to pose for me... Then they asked where it is going to be published... It was the first time that I could get shots of people without being afraid that they will break my camera. However, the professional look can sometimes be disadvantage, and in general this lens attracts lots of attention. It is also big and heavy. And expensive. Bottom line - I really love this lens and it produced many pictures that I couldn't get with other lenses (in terms of sharpness, colors and Bokeh). However, you should give it some time in order to get used to it and learn all the advantages (and disadvantages) of this lens. If you have the money - BUY IT!

It's important to get a quick autofocus lens that will deliver across a wide range of potential shoot options. I bought this one for the A700, using the Sony 2x converter, and despite ambiguous marketing writeups, I took a chance on the three components having FULL interoperability with the autofocus, etc. It met/exceeded all my requirements and they are fully compatible. I'll admit that them all being Sony components helped, and I've had nothing but good luck with all the Sony products I've bought. This lens, with the converter, creates a bit darker setup, but I bought it for airshows and distant scenery shots, and the camera automatically offsets for this. I am looking forward to many years of flexibility and enjoyment.

I bought this to replace my lost Canon A510. This camera takes pictures fast. The images are clean and crisp outdoors. But again indoor shots will always get screwed under low lighting with all the point and shoots. The LCD is bright and sharp (thanks to the big, high resolution display). Pros: 1. Clean and crisp outdoor images. 2. Very fast auto focus. 3. Decent image quality indoors in good lighting. 4. Menu and settings organization is good. 5. Lots of retouch options. 6. DRO works awesome. 7. Macro mode is too good for a point and shoot. Cons: 1. Need to press too much buttons for a simple task. 2. Playback is slow and starts up very slowly too. 3. Purple streaks in the LCD when viewed against a bright light source. They don't appear in the pictures, but still viewable in video. 4. Noisy indoor images under average/ low lighting. 5. Buttons are tiny and mode dial looks cheap. 6. Proprietary USB connector. 7. White balance is not effective.

I'm very pleased with the camera after taking more than 200 shots in a little amount of time. The Auto mode is really useful but where the camera really shines is in the program area. Great photo results with just little tweaks. Oh, and the Smile Shutter is more useful than it seems, specially when taking those pesky baby smile pictures.

Definitely way smaller a bag that it looks like online. The camera and 1 of the lenses barely fits and forget putting another lens in it. Naturally the included tripod does not fit, but the rest of the things a serious photog would need will be seriously cramped. My fault for going by how big it "looked"...but beware, things are not always as they appear.

I don't have much to say. My dad did all the research and asked me to buy it online for him. I look at it and did a basic comparison against a few other cameras. It was clearly better than the others in the same price range. I have had the camera for about a month and used it intensely (after the initial fooling around with all the features at home period) for a weekend trip with my wife. It took great pictures of us (portraits) and scenery pictures of the place we had visited. All in all, I'm very happy.

I have found the Sony D9 to be the best camera I have owned to date. It really takes excellent photos and the zoom is one of the best available. Having a rechargable battery that I took over 500 photos on one charge is a real plus. I have also been in a lot of sub zero weather and the camera still works perfactly. There are a lot of things I still need to learn but for starting out I have had no disapointments.

Backpack camera bag is working great. My Canon XTI, strobe, regular lens and zoom lens fit snugly, but nicely. It leaves me with some great additional space for some personal items. I really liked this camera most of all for its speed in taking the pictures, captured my dog so clearly as he was jumping in the air, awesome!! Zoom is great. I would have kept this camera for the great pictures but the following reasons really annoyed me: 1. the lens cap has to be taken off manually, hangs by a string, no clip to attach to the camera strap. If you don't take it completly off it gets in the way of shooting. 2. the on/off button is very tiny and is flush on the top of the camera making it sometimes difficult to turn on or off especially in a hurry. 3. no delete button, have to go through too many steps to delete a picture. 4. should be an indentation on the back for your thumb to rest and a better grip.

I have owned this camera for about 6 months and have enjoyed it a lot! It takes great pictures and has lots of different options. The only trouble I've had is the lens cap does not attach to anything, so it swings around all over the place when I'm taking pictures. I solved this by attaching velcro to the front of the cap and the side of the strap. The other thing I do not like is that the dial on the top tends to move quite easily and sometimes I find myself taking pictures on a setting I did not plan on. I just fix it and retake the picture, but it's a little annoying. I do love, however, the movie feature. They are very clear and upload to our computer/blog easily. My family loves seeing pictures and movies of my kids - especially family that is out of town. All in all, this is a great camera!

Well, I have to say that I bought this lens because, It is the only one I could afford for now. Am I happy with it? Pretty much. It is heavy and, I'm not used to that but, it works well with the Sony A-100 and anti-shake helps also. I for one don't like pulling it out to zoom...it falls down every time I move the camera...unless I lock it (which is a pain). The image quality...well what can I say. It is alright. I have been searching for a zoom lens for a while. This one, while a different color from my camera, fits it well and works great. It is 28-300 so I don't have to change lenses out if I want to take wider angle pictures. I am definatley happy with it and for the price it is well worth it.

If you are looking for a decent walkaround that does 95% of the ranges, and hate lugging loads of lens with kids for zoo trips or travel, this will be perfect. Folds to a amazing skinny size that is even smaller than the Sony Kit lens! Big PLus- Pictures actually turned out better than the kit lenses after some workouts. I did some research before buying this lens and read about the struggling at 200mm. I verify it does struggles, but not something as unbearable as some made it out to be. Maybe we are more impatient in this age, and cannot tolerate a delay of a split a second. If you can bear with your 70-300, this will not be an issue for you. However, please note that although it says F3.8, your camera will show maximum of F4.0.. According to the Tamron Customer Service, this is inherent for Sony Cameras only; so don't be alarmed.. Sans the prime lenses and CZ, this's gotta be the best purchase I've made. And it is dirt cheap (<150)!! I'll highly recommend to novice and pros. Try it and you'll soon dump your kits like I did!!

We've had our Cyber-shot for several years now. We originally got it because it used the same Sony memory sticks as our camcorder did. my dad got this as a family camera, but i think i use it the mose. i've never used a digital camera before and i learned how to use it really fast. its idiot proof! not only is it idiot proof, it has great resolution like u can zoom in the picture and practically see someones eyes from like 30 ft away. you can also do little video clips which i thought was cool. but the only bad thing is it doesnt zoom in and out very much, but the zooming in of the photo pretty much solves that problem.

I recently got this lens for my Minolta 7D, but wish I had made the investment a long time ago! I'm always stepping back, stepping back, oops, my back is against the wall, trying to get more interior architecture in the frame. That is, until I got this lens! I have a 28-80 lens for a Minolta film 35mm camera that just isn't wide enough, epecially with the crop factor working against me. The versatility of the Sigma 17-70 now allows me to get everything I need in the frame and with very high quality -- plus the additional macro ability is something I didn't think I would use much, but have found the extreme close-up option really fun to experiment with. I don't see myself changing lenses much ever again!

Customer Review: Bah. Mostly plastic, and heavier than described.
When I was shopping for this, one review caught my eye saying this tripod was "mostly metal." That claim, along with the light weight in the description, were the two things that sold me on the model. Well, NEITHER ARE TRUE. This thing is indeed mostly plastic made to look like black metal. Apparently, this fooled the other reviewer, but not me. The only metal I found on the whole thing were the bars of the legs themselves, and the bar of the swivel handle. Every single other part of this thing is black plastic. All of the hinges and joints are plastic. The leg braces are plastic. The height crank is plastic (yikes!). Even the center tube is PLASTIC. Overall, it looks nice, I'll give them that; but please know that you are NOT getting a "mostly metal" tripod here. No way. Now, that by itself wouldn't be too bad, except that you'd expect something that's nearly all plastic to be much lighter - it isn't. The part of the description that reads: Product Dimensions: 22.3 x 5 x 4.9 inches ; 1 pounds ..is WRONG. Maybe this thing weighs 1 pound on the moon, but it's much heavier where I'll be using it, here on earth. It is, indeed, much closer to it's described shipping weight: Shipping Weight: 4 pounds Why the large discrepancy? Who know? Sloppiness on Amazon's part, I guess. At any rate, the weight was key for me, and there were several tripods lighter than 4 lbs which I passed up. I guess I should have trusted my instincts when they told me this was too good to be true. Anyway, if I'm going to buy a plastic tripod, I want it to be much lighter than 4 lbs.

Customer Review: The one I should have gotten first !
I bought this camera after returning the fifty-dollar plastic 'indoor' model with audio. This unit feels VERY solidly built and performs great. The night vision is clear and bright at greater than 20 feet. The picture is sharp and accurate (though I lose a lot of quality going through my Q-See MPEG capture card). The wide field of vision is excellent (there is a bit of 'fish-eye', but I don't know how you'd avoid that with a nearly 90 degree range). These do not look ridiculous or obvious mounted to my home. One camera covers about 80% of my backyard and another mounted above my front door monitors guests, delivery personnel, solicitors, and occasionally nocturnal predators (lots of geckos in Florida.) I highly recommend this camera, particularly for domestic applications where appearance might be a concern. BEAR IN MIND; this unit did NOT include power or cabling. If you are planning more than one camera I strongly recommend purchasing an AC adapter intended for 4 or 8 units, vs getting a module for each device.

Customer Review: Perfect case except for the clasp
I have several of these and use them for a Sony F717, F828, and now a Sony A100 DSLR. The key positive about this case is the design: a velcroed insert supports the L shape of the camera and keeps pressure/impact off the long lens. If you don't protect the lens in this way, the lens joint on the F717 and F828 will become increasingly loose requiring factory repair. The design is also great because of the three closeable external pockets: a mesh bag that holds a spare battery perfectly, a large zippered compartment for memory cards, and a small zippered, cushioned compartment perfect for filters such as a polarizer. The one big downside is the two release buttons for the clasp will eventually break off, requiring you to insert a car key or similar pointed object into the side of the clasp to open your bag. At this point, it's a good option to just glue some velcro to the clasp and bag and use that instead of the clasp. If you want a compact case that fits these cameras perfectly and holds just the necessities (no room for external flash or extra lens) this is just the ticket. They aren't making these anymore so good luck. :) By the way: if your F717 image sensor has failed don't throw the camera away. Check the Sony website, this problem is repaired for free regardless of warranty status.

Don't waste your money. After less than a year of use, the clapse breaks. This makes it nearly impossible to get your camera out and renders the case useless. (Due to the design, you cannot use it without closing the clasp.) No extra storage space, either.

The Tokina 28-80 wasn't as good in quality picture, since I have the one that came with the camera don't bother to use it, the 100-300 lens works great, good quality, for the price is unbelievable, the con is that the color is different than the camera, but at the price dont care about it.

Customer Review: You get what you pay for...
I wont lie, the bag is very nice. It has 3 compartments and it had movable dividers that really help. The cleaning kit is descent for the price. The brush will loose its bristles pretty quickly, but it isnt bad. The air blower is probably the best part of this package. It has an air intake at the back of the black bulb which means that it doesnt suck in the dusty air you just blew out your lens with. Now on to the tripod. It works great as long as you dont use it. The joints come loose very easily and the device that is used to raise and lower the neck breaks after about 30 min. It will no longer support my D70 unless it is completely lowered, which really limits its usefulness. Other than the tripod, this is a nice kit for the price.

Customer Review: An Excellent Travel Solution
Admit it, many of you are looking for that one lens solution for the times when you just can't bring all your gear. For me, this is that solution. I have used this lens extensively on my KM5D and find it to be quite usable. Yes, it is a megazoom. Yes, it has problems, but these are compensated for the sheer convenience. I find the lens to be rather sharp and colors to be quite nice as well. The price is certainly reasonable and the build quality is quite good (i.e. metal mount). I highly reccomed this lens, but be aware that it is not "G" (or "L" for you Canon folks) glass. Once you get by that, you can appreciate the lens for what it is. I highly reccomend the PTlens plugin for photoshop to use with this lens to correct distortions, vignetting, etc. Highly reccomended! Not all of the software will install if you don't have Sony's image software that comes with their cameras; however, "GPS Image Tracker" will. This will alter your photos EXIF tags so that they will automatically be placed on a map when uploaded to photo sites like Flickr. The software works by comparing the GPS time stamps with the ones in your photos, so remember to check your clock on the Camera!

i have had this camera for nearly one year now. i've had problems with lousy shutters in digital cameras before, but this one works great. sometimes there is an error on the flash feature of this camera, but other than that, it's perfect. takes fantastic photos in nearly all light conditions. i even bought a waterproof case for it and it takes fantastic pictures underwater and when wet (when there's beaded water on the outside of casing lens window). great for the price too. overall i am very satisfied with this product and would purchase it over again-- which i have! i dropped the uncased camera in a lake last month and replaced it with one exactly like it. The new one works beautifully.

This is my second Cybershot I ever owned, and I am totally excited over it's features and quality of photos. I first have to say that I was lucky to find it at a year end clearance sale at SEARS for only $280!Yep... be a smart shopper and find the better price. The camera's photo quality is just unbeatable, with clarity that is so sharp its almost like looking at something in real life. This camera is definately for the gadget guru who enjoys showing off a new toy! The large screen with built in slide show and music is definately a show stopper, but putting your own music on it is even more amazing! Even the ability to shoot video with sound is a great feature. The touch screen is impressive and so easy to use. My only problem has been the constant smudges, and wiping off the screen...other than that it's the perfect camera for anyone.

The Sony camera that I purchased was advertised as "same as new" or equivilent. The camera I received was anything but. The condition of the camea was very poor; all scratched as though it had slid on cement. There were no directions for how to use it and there was no card to store the pictures. The cord attached is very dirty showing plenty of use overall. I am very disappointed in the product, especially after the way it was presented. The holster case seems to be very well constructed out of solid materials, but it is not big enough for a full size SLR. A Canon Digital Rebel XTi might fit, but my Canon 40D doesn't, even with a moderate length lens.

I bought this product in time for my honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta. It worked very well in protecting my camera, except for the screen cover, which was all scratched up within the first couple of uses. It is very easy to press all of the buttons through the cover as well.

I have used this item only one time and it seems ok. It's got a very plastic look and feel to it. Looks like if you over tighten some of the swivel parts to hold the camera position that they might break. I will have to pay attention to that. I'm talking a SLR camera and the weight of L-lens on it. So I'll see how it goes on that.It wasn't a great deal of money and it looked to be the best one available through Amazon.

All the things in the kit went perfectly with my DSC-H7. The case is NOT too big, but it fits my camera (which is fairly large), the lens hood, memory card case, cleaning cloth, mini tripod, and I probably could fit a couple more small things in there. Given that Sony's cases were all the price of this kit or more and none of them as versitile, this is a great deal. The tripods are great for the price and the cleaning stuff works very well. Wasn't a big fan of the screen covers, it makes the screen not as clear, but I really was in it for the tripods and case, all of which were excellent for the low price!

This is a very well constructed camera bag that is clearly an extremely good value for the price. I was surprise to see how big it was. There's enough space for a 35 mm slr, 3 lens, portable flash and additional accessories. Frankly, I was looking for something a little smaller (otherwise it would be 5 stars), but I think this bag will earn its 5th star as I acquire more accessories (although, it's sometimes nice to have a small bag for quick trips).

Customer Review: 2x Telephoto Converter lens
I purchased the Telephoto Converter lens for my Cybershot DSC W150. It was slightly heavier and slightly bigger than I expected. It looks a little silly on a camera like the cybershot, because it's very wide on a small camera body. You need the Lens adaptor for this to be attached to the camera (see my review for the adaptor here: Sony VAD-WE Adaptor Ring for Sony VCL-D0746 & VCL-D2046 Conversion Lenses). The lens screws onto the adaptor securely. This lens works best in well lit shots. Without ample lighting I found it rather difficult to get clear shots. Of course, you can't use the flash with the lens or you'll get an obstructed light ring in your picture. Naturally, you also can't use the optical viewfinder because the viewfinder is blocked by the lens adaptor and the lens itself, and even if you could use the viewfinder it wouldn't be accurate because the zoom magnifies the shot. This lens magnifies the camera shot 2x optical, doubling the cameras focal length. I really like having a strong optical zoom, so adding this lens onto my Cybershot W150 (which already has a 5x optical zoom) gives a better up close shot. Another thing about the lens: if you don't have the camera options set to the Tele converter lens, you will see a black ring around the shot when the regular zoom is from 1x-4x. Setting the camera option to the Tele converter lens simply adjusts the camera zoom so it starts at around 4.6x, so the black ring won't appear. Overall, if you're looking to boost the optical zoom of your Sony Cybershot, this is the lens to do it. Not recommended for shots with low light, but very good for outdoor activities. If you're only looking for a strong optical zoom, you might be better off buying a slightly bigger camera with a built in optical zoom of 10x or more. I like my Cybershot for its compactness, and if I want an additional optical zoom boost this conversion lens provides that with the right circumstances.

Customer Review: Great for outdoor pictures, but not much else
I used to have an Olympus Stylus Zoom 80 digital cam and my finace bought me the Sony Cybershot DSC-W80I last year. I liked the Olympus, but it was an old model and I wanted more functionality in a camera. However, I am disappointed in the Sony Cybershot. It is great for taking outdoor pictures, but don't even think of getting a good picture indoors, of motion or anything that's not stationary. It boasts the Double Anti-Blur Technology with Super Steady Shot, but this is a joke. A lot of the pictures come out blurry and you have to spend a lot of time adjusting the settings to figure out how to get a good picture. It does not take very good low light images even though it has adjustable sensitivity, twilight, and ISO settings. I tried to take pictures at a party where there was average lighting and colored lights, and they ALL came out blurry unless I used the flash, which still didn't look great b/c everything was too bright for the actual setting. Without the flash, the people in the pictures were literally transparent; They looked like ghosts and there were streaks of light across the images. Horrible. It does have great red eye reduction and fast shutter speeds for taking multiple pictures (again, these will come out blurry if there is ANY movement). I've had the Sony Cybershot for 7 months, but I am going to go back to Olympus.
