Customer Review: What a deal!
I was all set to buy the Sony H50, but found the H9 at Fry's for $249. Wow! I was looking for a bridge camera to play with HDR photo editing. My dad is a big Canon user and for the life of us we cannot get either of his two Canons to take bracketed still shots. The manuals stink for this camera, and the pdf I loaded on the home computer doesn't mention the bracketing either. BUT, it's quite simple. Figured it out in just playing with the camera after about 5 minutes, and it actually works. I'll be taking this out to the Getty Center this weekend and will take some 2 to 3 hundred pictures and see what this camera can really do. Will add to this review afterwards. ---------------------- It's a keeper. The quality of the pictures is simply amazing. I played with a lot of settings for taking pictures indoors of priceless painting and then Macros of the flower garden and of pollenating bees, and each shot amazes me. You'll be very hard pressed to buy a better camera for the $249 I spent at Frys in El Segundo. I posted a picture here in Amazon consumer images, titled 'JP Getty Museum Bee' as a example of the quality of shot I am seeing.

This Is a very nice camera in terms of style and design. What I hate about this camera is that when taking pictures you really have to be still or the picture would come out blurry, and using the zoom with low lighting, the pictures taken would be unrecognizable. This camera is not for indoors but taking it to the outdoors, it works perfectly fine.

I'm very glad with this camera. It's portable, thin and light! Perfect to carry on your pocket everywhere you go. The only thing that is not so good is the focus. Sometimes, when you are not hanging the camera so tigthly, the photos are blurry. I think it's because the fragility that i mention before.

Purchased the waterproof casing so I could take family photos at vacation and waterparks with my personal camera. The one time use cameras limit you so much. I was a little apprehensive at first but I trust the Sony brand. The first time I used this was at Schlitterbahn and it performed flawlessly. Took great pictures and some pretty neat ones at water level. Carried it into the Wave machine and got cool pictures as the wave sucks you under the water. COOL With my digital camera I took over 75 pictures, which would have equaled around 3 one time use cameras,I would have spent more on those three cameras for purchase price and developement than I did for this case through [...]
Customer Review: Great Sports Case!
I got this case for my son, who took it snorkeling in Hawaii. He captured some great underwater shots (large tortoise, fish, etc.), and the case kept his camera safe and dry. Later, he used it for some beach shots, and it was safe from the water and sand. The case was easy to use and well worth the money to get such unique underwater shots, which would've been impossible otherwise.

Customer Review: DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK
I made the mistake of thinking, or maybe not thinking, that between Amazon and 47th Street that this would be an acceptable substitute to the more expensive lenses out there. Boy was I wrong! The lens not only vignettes but the color is washed out and the focus is soft to fuzzy. All in all you get what you pay for and in this case I didn't even get what I paid for. STAY AWAY FROM THESE LENSES, THEY ARE JUNK!!!!!!! P.S. I have not heard back from 47th St. about a return for credit after 4 days either. I will update that part of the situation.

This is a very good case. I've owned it for over 1 year now & love it. It has a soft interior that helps protect the LED screen from scratching. It also nice looking with attractive stitching. Very durable. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because it adds to the thickness of the camera. The leather is approximately 1/8 inch thick, so when it covers the front & the back & then has a flap that goes over the front cover, we are talking about nearly a 1/2 inch more in width. I bought a small camera so I would take it more places & the case sort of defeats that purpose. However, it protects the camera & does it's job. If it were thinner it wouldn't be as protective. I still take the camera/case places, it fits nicely in my purse & I still recommend it. I only mention the thickness in case it's a deal-breaker for someone else. Nice case!

The backpack and tripod work great. I spent the first half hour just exploring the backpack to find all of the pockets. The tripod weighs hardly anything, and the handle makes it very portable. This backpack doesn't have a strap for hooking the tripod on, but that should be pretty easy to do with bungee cords. The cleaning kit is a little ghetto, but given the price, I'm not complaining.

Sony HVLRLAM Ring Light for Sony Alpha Digital SLR is most importantly NOT a Flash unit. It will provide light for close-ups but is not really suitable for anything approaching professional use in macro photography. Its main limitation is the limited brightness of the LED lights. The unit will not permit the use of very small F-Stops that are often desired in macro photography. For hand held purposes about f5.6 is about all that you will be able to use. Too bad Sony didn't continue the previous Real Flash units Konica-Minolta made for macro photography. I'd pass on this unit for anything other than casual home use - maybe for stamp collectors or that sort.
Customer Review: Ring light for Sony Alpha
I like to take close-up (and macro) photographs of flowers and other small images and this ring light is all that I could ask. It allows me to photograph in lousy ambient light without the resulting photograph showing the defect in the finished photo. I also have been able to take extreme closeups of my grandson without distracting shadows. (I can always adjust the perceived lighting when using Photograph CS3.) An interesting side feature is achieved by only usin the lighting on one half of the image which does create shadows which are controllable by the using. This is a winner.

This wide angle conversion lens does just what you'd expect it to. Regarding a few of the reviews that say it doesn't add that much, maybe the operators didn't have the conversion settings switched properly in the Camera Menu. On a recent trip to the Southwest, the added area was very noticeable. Just sitting in my living room and aiming at the same point with and without the less gives a tangible result. It's true that the lens does block the bottom portion of the flash, but knowing that, adjust your shot accordingly. Also, your zooming is limited with this lens attached, so don't expect to use the full 12x optical of the H5 without removing it. I am very pleased with this lens.

I read a review of this product before buy it, about interiors photo using flash; that customer was correct, you`ll see a shadow on the floor(half an orange), this is the shadow of the lens.I think this problem can be solved attaching a flash that come out far from the camera, no matter up or side.My camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 6MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilization Zoom, great camera!In fact this lens is good, you`ll see a wider field but consider other than the built in flash for interiors, when flash is needed of course.

if u have to have one by Sony, then this is the one; however, if u don't care about the brand, then choose something else. like other reviews have mentioned, the color of the case makes it hard to look new or clean, in turns, gives me a feeling that it won't last as long as i want. i recently took this carrying case w/ my DSC-N2 on my europe trip. i kept it in my purse for the most part, but it still gets dirty. also, i really don't get the neck strap at all. i put it onto the camera, but it just doesn't seem like it's working as well as it should be. other than these, i got what i paid for. i needed a good case to protect my camera, and i got it. also, it barely adds any weight to the camera itself.

Camera is nice, but I would just buy that, The accessory kit, is pretty much useless. The Car charger doesn't fit this camera, and I have enough of those. The USB-memeory card does't fit the memory card that comes with the camera so why include it? Little tripod for table, I might use that, who knows. Much better camera bags out there.

Customer Review: does not hold charge as long as the original battery
This was the battery size that fit my model of Sony Cybershot DSCP8 camera. However, this replacement does not hold the charge as long as the original battery that came with the camera when it was new. I don't know if perhaps this is due to the battery or perhaps something with my camera (which is 7 years old at this point, but still works great!) However, the old battery doesn't hold any charge after fairly constant use for 6 years, so at least the new battery is a better option for me right now than buying a whole new camera.
Customer Review: Relieved after reciept and install
Obviously, the DSCP10 camera (which I own) requires the Sony NPFC11 battery. After reading other reviews (regarding the battery), I became very skeptical of if my camera would ever properly perform again. I had no choice but to purchase this battery in order for my camera to ever function again. I browsed through many web-sites claiming to sell the battery at a very low price (some as low as $20); however, I choose to "bite the bullet" and pay the higher price ($40 through Amazon) and be assured that the new battery was genuine. After the new battery was recieved (package contained the Sony tamper-proof seal), installed, and charged, the camera immediately performed like new. (Throughout this entire ordeal, I constantly had to consider the purchase of a new camera). What a relief. Very satisfied.

Sounds like that last guy had a problem somewhere between the keyboard and his chair :)The sony cam has a great picture and sound. Problems - it has NO support from Sony what-so-ever. If you are like the last guy - then you need support every step of the way.Also you cannot plug this product into your website in any way.The other major issue is that it ONLY works with IE, not firefox or any other browser. Generally I would say I regret buying this camera.
Customer Review: Poor Picture when using wireless
I found this camera frustrating. I couldn't get it to initilize when I first got it. I ended up having to ship it back to get it reset. Once I got it back I was very frustrated in setting it up. I finally got it hooked up on the LAN but needed to set up the WLAN. That took some doing but eventually I got it running. I put the camera up and the picture quality is poor at best. I'm not sure if it's because it's wireless or just the camera itself. I was hoping for a much better picture.

This is a nice camera{I got the Blue version that is prettier} This camera takes very nice pictures but If you're looking for something kind of professional Then this one is not for you. This is a simple camera for someone who will upload pictures to Facebook, Windows Live Spaces or My Space and will print some pictures. This is not like the Sony Cybershot W300 that is 13.6 Megapixels, This one is a nice camera for simple use. This is a nice camera{I got the Blue version that is prettier} This camera takes very nice pictures but If you're looking for something kind of professional Then this one is not for you. This is a simple camera for someone who will upload pictures to Facebook, Windows Live Spaces or My Space and will print some pictures. This is not like the Sony Cybershot W300 that is 13.6 Megapixels, This one is a nice camera for simple use. I am still getting used to it because it's kind of complicated to handle but still I feel I will use this camera a long time...

The video quality is great in both, but obviously better in Fine - the movies are just larger. The camera is great, but when using some modes it's better to have a tripod or really steady hands. But, using the Manual Programming Mode can eliminate these issues (the Programming Modes are pretty powerful, learn to use them). The colors are breathtaking, the videos are stunning. You will not regret this purchase. The slimmer models now seem, to me, to be more delicate than as rugged as this one - but still don't drop it. ;)

We bought the DSC-W7 over a year ago. We have traveled extensively with it including Egypt, Canada, India and all over the US as well. The camera is boxy looking with no stylish profile to write home about. But the versatility in using the camera really is worth it - especially for an amateur. The flash is very powerful. The camera uses 2 AA batteries - so very compatible with all countries and in an emergency situation, one can always get AA batteries really easily. A 1 GB memory card is useful as an accessory to buy - you can store over 600 photos... Overall a very good buy Also good memory card

Customer Review: Replace my video camera
I have a Sony W150 digital camera and after I bought this Cyber-shot station I do not need my video camera anymore. By using the remote control I can watch videos in full screen on my TV and watch my pictures. This Cyber-shot station does not give the camera extra functionality, but it is much easier with the remote control and also easier to plugin the camera to the station than using the cable. Even, it is a little expensive I would recommend buying this product.

Purchased the dock so my wife could easily pre-view our photos on her HD TV. After deleting unwanted photos and editing for red eye, etc. I transfer them to my Mac for any further tweaking and storage then sync them to her beloved Apple TV as part of her video photo album. Also, having the camera sitting in the dock always ready has saved many moments of panic when we need to grab the camera and go. A neat product well worth the money.

Customer Review: The part is ok, the design is poor.
Once you have, it installed it work fine. The trouble is you end up carrying several additional items around with your compact, easy to carry, digital camera. Looking back the camera is great! However, it lacks the ability for easy lens changes. To compensate Sony came up with this add-on. The add-on takes a couple of minutes to install, and then you have to screw the lens onto the adaptor. If you are switching from a long shot to a close shot, you spend a lot of time installing and removing the adaptor and lenses. If I had, it to do over again I would buy a 35mm digital where the lenses are easer to change and you do not need an adaptor.

Ive had my Sony DSCW30 for a little over a year now and it's one of the best little point and shoot cameras that I have ever owned. And I have had several:Nikon, Olympus, Cannon. Its a great little quick point and shoot, very quick power up and small and compact. Takes almost as good of pictures as my Sony H1. Ive taken it on several trips and its been nice to have such a small powerful camera in my pocket or the little belt pouch. Yes it does not take quality pictures like my DSLR, but its not made to. A very nice little camera and its not made of plastic, very sturdy built camera. GOOD JOB SONY!

This product has worked amazing for me. I have taken it to washington DC to San Fransisco and has taken amazing pictures for me. I used this camera for a Digital Photography class in a college and my work was just as good as people with more expensive cameras. It also took great pictures indoors and outdoors. The only slight bad thing was when using natural light the you need to turn flash on. I've also dropped this camera near 15 times and still no problems

The DSC-H9 takes great pictures and is fairly simple to use. Has many extra features for people who are novice photographers, but want to get into some higher end point-and-shoots. The only issue I have had with this camera is the memory stick. I sometimes get a message telling me to re-insert the memory stick. Overall great camera.

the H9 delivers everything you want from a digital camera and more. my favorite features include the mobility of the lcd monitor that enables shooting from the hip, over your head and in difficult lighting situations. another great feature is the rapid shooting setting enabling the camera to keep shooting pictures in rapid succession by just holding the button down. the remote has come in handy for portraits and low light photography. the interface is user-friendly. the zoom is both smooth and quick. the size is perfect. although before making the purchase earlier this year, i read some reviews commenting on a short battery life, so i stocked up. i've since found no need for more than one backup battery.

Customer Review: Great Flash
This is my first DLSR Camera and this is my first flash for a DLSR. I have not used other flashes, but I can tell you that this flash works very well for me. It provides excellent light and many times better lighting than the built-in camera flash. It is not an energy hog as you would expect. I keep rechargable batteries on hand (uses four AA's) but even with the use of those batteries, it still is pretty efficient from what I can tell. Again, nothing to compare it to, but I am very pleased with it.

This is a great piece of kit. It's basically a souped-up plastic bag but has a heavy-duty ziplok, a long sleeve that rolls tight and then two velcro tabs that hold the roll-up closed. I've been using it a lot over the last two days and it has survived several runs down a log flume plus a fair old bashing around in the pool with the kids. I don't know what it's like at depth - I'll give it a trial some other holiday. The picture doesn't show it too well but the black circle actually sticks out a couple of cm to allow the lens to project when the camera is turned on. The glass at the end is very clear and doesn't hold drips. The controls are easily accessible through the plastic at the rear and the video screen is also easy to view. All in all a great addition for the cheap family camera.

I highly recommend this lens to anyone, and not just for it's macro capability which is amazingly sharp, but also as a super fine fixed focal length lens for portraits and general photography.This lens is tack sharp and very well made, frankly the only fault I can find is the screw in lens hood. The image quality on my Sony Alpha 200 is stunning, it blows the kit lens out of the water in sharpness, contrast and build quality. Great glass.

The Sigma 50mm macro is a great all around lens, it makes you really think about the composition due to the fixed focal length. You just need to think about the depth of field a little to achieve the results that you are after. The color and sharpness are excellent. Close-up work is what this lens is all about and the results are super, I use it at work for documenting projects and some of our items are quite small (we do prototype machining) and this lens is excellent for this. Only problem is it does block the on camera flash if you go 1:1, problem is solved by using an off camera flash with the wireless control. Overall I highly recommend this lens.

The mpk-wb marine pack by sony works very well. It does not work on all W Series digital cameras, specifically not the DSC-W100. I know this because we have that camera and the DSC-W90. The W100 is an older model and is to thick to fit in the case. We specifically used it for snorkeling on our Hawaii trip. It seals perfectly, but we did not test it to the 135 foot depth it claims it can go. The pictures were good, but it would have been nice is they gave the under water filter with it that makes water shots for blue and vivid. I was very happy with it and the pictures and it allowed for switching to video mode. Actually allowed for the use of all camera functions.

We used the marine pack on a trip to Costa Rica. It worked amazingly well. The individual buttons allow you to use all the cameras functions. In some ways it makes it easier than using the camera on its own. It took great underwater picures and protected the camera completely. Getting it from Amazon saved over $50 and there was no tax or shipping. I would recommend it to anyone.

I am astonished by this lens, as well as its sibling the 135mm f/1.8 lens Sony SAL-135F18Z 135mm f/1.8 Carl Zeiss Sonnar T Telephoto Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera. In photos taken using either lens, the colors and contrast are so realistic that I have the illusion that the subject is about to step out of the photograph!
Customer Review: Best portrait lens ever!
The sharpness creamy bokeh are unmatched by any other alpha mount lens. The auto clutch is a fine addition, since this lens has some heft to it, so you'll find yourself balancing the camera by the lens with your left hand. When it is in AF, the focusing ring doesnt turn. Nice. The colors are reproduced as true as any glass on the market. My only issue is minor, I wish the lens hood had a filter window, similar to the 70200SSM. Very fast focusing even in low light, but to really get the most out of it, mount it on the A700. It does tend to lag a tad in low light when mounted on the KM 7D. You'll forget the hit to your pocketbook as soon as you print your first shot!

I had purchased my Sony DSC-W5 in 2005, the pictures are razor sharp, the built in audio / video are great , the camera has a well built feel, not cheap and plasticy like a lot of cameras on the market. Since this has been out for approx 3 years now, most of todays cameras are much smaller, but i dont care too much for micro-electronics. Bottom line, great camera

I have had this camera for over 3 years and have been pretty happy with it overall. I have not taken any time to figure out anything tricky with it, just point and shoot! This little camera has been all over the place with my family and we have taken some great photos with it. The only reason I am in the market for a new camera is because I would like to upgrade to the Image Stabilization feature.

They have another NP-BG1 sold at a cheaper price than this one, however their other ad doesn't claim to work for the Cybershot DSC-W120 and so that is why I bought this one. However, when I received it in the mail, it was just the same as the one they're selling under the listing: Replacement Sony NP-BG1 Equivalent LithiumIon Camera Battery For SONY DSC-H9 / DSC-H7 / DSC-H3 / DSC-H50 / DSC-W30 / DSC-W35 / DSC-W50 / DSC-W55 / DSC-W70 / DSC-W80 / DSC-W90 / DSC-W100 / DSC-W200 / DSC-N1 / DSC-N2 / DSC-T50 / DSC-T20 and so I could have saved $5.00 as I they priced this one at $12.00 while the other one was listed at $7.68. The battery also runs about half as long as an original Sony so be prepared for that if you get this. Basically, if you see any listing for a cheap NP-BG1, just buy the cheapest one as they are all the same generic battery that is really nothing like the real thing and work for all models that use the NP-BG1 (whether they have it listed or not)

It looks cheap, but until now it does the job - it fits to my camera (SONY DSC-H9) and to the charger and it seems to work as good as the original battery. It is really recommended to have an extra battery, and this is a nice cheap option.

Customer Review: Good camera, but it's starting to tire.
This was my mom's, handed down to me about two years ago. I love the camera itself, it is small, easy to use, and versatile. I have no upgrades on it, it has the 8MB stick, which is pretty much nothing right now. I have some problems with the light reduction, but it hasn't become a big problem. It usually happens when the batteries run dead. Still, a highly reccommended product.
Customer Review: Broke after 8 months
Overall, this is an excellant camera as far as quality of pictures, features, ease of use. I loved it until it just quit taking pictures. After speaking to 3 sony tech support representitives and answering the same questions, they finally came to the conclusion that it was broke. Duh! I didnt drop, mis-use or abuse it. It just quit taking pictures. Sony's 90 day warrenty made matters worse as it will cost $148.00 to fix the camera. I was a big buyer of Sony products until this happened. You would think after spending $289.00 on the camera, it would come with a longer warrenty. Lesson learned! My rating for Sony is a 0 but the camera is a 4 star.

The piece works great for your camera. (I own an a100). I have to say that I regret not having done more research before ordering it. There is a model that is made by Opteka that sells for $15 only. That is $45 cheaper than the sony. It is supposed to do everything that this little piece can do. (it's not a very sophisticated piece) This is the reason that I give only 3 stars. Otherwise very satisfied.
Customer Review: RM-S1AM Remote Commander
I have quite a tremor in both hands making smear-proof photography rather challenging. So I decided, on a recommendation from a professional photographer-friend, to try the remote control. I found that most all of my pictures taken with my Sony Alfa 100 are now on a tripod. The control works perfect and the length of the cord is short enough not to get tangled in my equipment. A half-push of the button allows auto focus and lock and push the rest of the way snaps the shutter. When it's plugged into the camera, both the camera button and the remote work at the same time so I can grab my camera for an action shot using the camera trigger and let the control just dangle to one side. I highly recommend it if camera shake is a problem and makes tripod work fun. The price is also reasonable.

Customer Review: Sony Cybershot 7.2 MP camera died right after 1 year warranty expired
Suddenly, while traveling, this Sony Cybershot 7.2 MP stopped working. It was exactly 1 year after purchase, right after the warranty expired. Very disappointing. An electronic problem causes a complete freezing-up right after the shutter button is pushed, resulting in a blank black viewer. After it finally releases from the freeze, no picture has been taken. Repair work costs more than to replace camera, of course. I will think twice before buying Sony camera again. As a photographer, I have owned many different cameras. Never have had a complete malfunction on a camera ever, except in a used Nikon I bought from the guys at the B&H Used Camera Dept in NYC. This Sony should have been better and should have lasted much longer. My old Olympus digital lasted at least five years with no problem.
Customer Review: Pics as good as SLR for a fraction of the price
I am not an expert, but the pictures from this camera look as good as pics from an expensive SLR camera. People can't believe the pictures I take with this camera. The 12X zoom makes it perfect for sporting events and your kid's school events. Unbelievable pictures. The only downside is that the camera is big (like an SLR) so we also have a smaller one to carry around everyday. But our everyday camera can't zoom in like this one. Be prepared, this thing is big but it is worth lugging around if you want really good pictures and the 3X zoom on a small camera just won't cut it. The price is so reasonable that you can get both this one and a small everyday camera.
